We try to avoid flying for trips within Europe. There are many options that produce less CO2 like bus, train or car sharing. This time I had to drive and took a boat but after staring at the big chimneys farting out black smoke for nearly 24 consecutive hours I wonder whether ferries are actually any better than flying.
