We have had the pleasure to talk with Wes privately and we’re bringing you more detailed information about his project his has not shared before. The main reason that lead him do something like this 👉 he is in the USA and the original shredder was designed using metric size plates, he knew he needed to redesign the machine regardless, even if the parts looked identical. Knowing that, he decided he wanted to go for something bigger so as to fit an average size trash bag full of plastic into the machine so he sized the top opening to fulfill that request.. then.. built everything around it!

But all the process has not been straightforward, we have to take into account his shredder weighs about 700lbs/320kg and some parts were quite difficult to build starting from the non-moving teeth.
Well has some future plans based on his experience working with the machine, he wants to improve it as much as possible. Visit his community topic to see what he is planning to work on for the upcoming versions. And that’s not all! He told us this is just part of a larger plastic recycling machine he can’t not give much more details about just yet but he promised he will when he is able to, so be aware of the previously mentioned topic to be up to date.
"I’m a big fan of Precious Plastic, I think it’s great that people are going out and trying to reuse other people’s ”garbage”. As most people know, only a small portion of plastic gets recycled, even going to ”recycling facilities” it often gets discarded because it’s not cost effective to recycle".
